Filter settings

Filter settings is a settings group on the Collection and Search results sections — not a global theme setting. Each template can configure filtering independently.

Available options

• Enable filters — shows the Filters button and slide-out filter panel (off by default). Requires setup in Shopify Search & Discovery — see Storefront filtering.
• Enable sorting — sort dropdown above the grid (on by default).
• Filter position — slide-out panel opens from the Left or Right.

On the Collection section you'll also find Enable grid size interface in the grid settings above Filter settings — separate from filtering but part of the same sticky toolbar.

How the filter panel works

When enabled, visitors tap Filters, pick facets in the drawer, then tap Show results to apply (the drawer closes automatically). Clear all resets selections. An active-filter count appears on the button.

Filters only render when Search & Discovery filters exist and the collection has under 5,000 products.

Blog filters are different

Blog tag filtering uses Filter group blocks in Blog content — not this settings group. See Filter group block.

Other settings

Which filters appear (price, color, size, etc.) is configured in the Search & Discovery app, not the theme.
