Video settings

Sections and blocks with video include a Video settings group — Video section, Video with text, Marquee video blocks, banner backgrounds, and product gallery videos.

Add a video source

Pick one:

• Video service URL — YouTube or Vimeo link.
• Shopify-hosted video — upload from your Files library (more control, no external branding).

Hosted video takes priority when both are set.

Set a poster and size

• Video poster image — still shown while loading or if autoplay is blocked.
• Max video width — cap width in pixels (0 = no cap, up to 1600 px).

Control playback

• Autoplay video — off by default. Browsers often block autoplay with sound.
• Loop video — restart when the clip ends.
• Mute video — on by default; keep muted if autoplay is on.
• Show video player controls — on by default. Turn off only for decorative background clips.

Match aspect ratio

Aspect ratio and Mobile aspect ratio frame the player when section height is Default. Options: adapt to image, landscape, portrait, square, ultrawide, widescreen.
