Hero - Basic

Hero - Basic is a zero-config header for templates where the content already lives in Shopify admin — blog posts, pages, and blogs. It reads the current object and displays its title, featured image, excerpt, and metadata.

What it shows automatically

Depending on the template, the section pulls from the active page, article, blog, or collection context:

• Heading from the object title (with Heading size and alignment controls).
• Featured image when one exists.
• Excerpt — from the content before a <!-- more --> comment or the object's excerpt field.

Toggle metadata

• Show breadcrumbs, Show author, Show date, Show tags — for articles.
• Show excerpt and Expandable excerpt — read-more behavior on long intros.
• Show share button, Show print button.

Set imagery

Image placement — background, left, right, or no image. Aspect ratio and Aspect ratio (mobile) control cropping.

Other settings

Color scheme, Padding settings, Visibility settings, Width settings. Collection pages use the dedicated Collection banner section instead.
