Sidebar settings

Add a sticky sidebar to standard pages with banners, products, testimonials, and more.

The page sidebar isn't a global theme setting — it lives in the Page content section, which renders your store's regular pages (About, Contact, policies, etc.). Open a page template in the theme editor and select Page content to find it.

Turn the sidebar on

Under Sidebar settings, enable Show sidebar. The sidebar only appears when it's on and you've added at least one block to the Page content section — an empty sidebar won't show.

On desktop the sidebar sits to the right of the page body and stays visible while scrolling. On mobile it opens as a slide-in drawer from the right edge.

Fill the sidebar with blocks

With Show sidebar on, add blocks to Page content. Blocks marked for the sidebar render there; the main page body still comes from the page's own content in the Shopify admin.

Useful block types:

  • Banner — promos or calls to action beside your page text.
  • Product — feature a specific product without leaving the page.
  • Testimonial, Rich text, Image, Video — supporting content.
  • Custom liquid — if you need something bespoke.

Add blocks the same way as anywhere else: click Add block, pick a type, configure it. Drag to reorder.

Build a page without a sidebar

Turn off Show sidebar, or simply don't add sidebar blocks. The page content then uses the full content width (still respecting Width settings and your theme's default).

Other settings

Page content also includes Show title, Color scheme, Padding settings, and Width settings. For article pages, the blog post sidebar works differently — see Blog post and Blog post sidebar.
