Intro to sections

Overview

Sections are the key building blocks for your store’s pages. They let you add, organize, and manage content with ease. Our themes take full advantage of these advanced features, offering an intuitive and flexible way to create a dynamic storefront tailored to your brand.

💡 Tip: Adding, editing, duplicating, and removing sections helps you build a unique shopping experience. With our modern theme features, you always have access to the latest and most advanced customization options.

Add a section

You can quickly add new sections to any page in your store, making it easy to showcase products or highlight content in the most effective way.

1. Go to Online Store > Themes in your admin.

2. Select your theme and click Customize.

3. Use the template drop-down menu to pick the page you want to edit.

4. Click + Add section, then pick a section from the list or use the Search bar.

5. Click the new section to begin customizing its blocks.

6. To change the order of sections, click and drag the ⋮⋮ icon next to any section.

7. Click Save when you’re done.

Edit a section

Editing sections lets you refresh your storefront’s style and update content as your business evolves.

1. Go to Online Store > Themes in your admin.

2. Choose your theme and click Customize.

3. Use the template drop-down to select the page with the section you want to edit.

4. Click on the section to open its settings in the preview window.

5. Customize individual blocks inside the section for even more detailed changes.

6. Click Save after making your edits.

Duplicate a section or block

Duplicating sections or blocks allows you to quickly reuse layouts and content, helping you create a consistent and professional look.

1. Go to Online Store > Themes in your admin.

2. Pick your theme and click Customize.

3. Select the template with the section or block you wish to duplicate.

4. Click on the section or block you want to copy.

5. Click the ... button beside the section name in the sidebar, then select Duplicate.

6. Click Save to keep your changes.

Remove a section or block

Removing sections or blocks is a simple way to organize your pages and remove anything you don’t need.

1. Go to Online Store > Themes in your admin.

2. Choose your theme and click Customize.

3. Use the template menu to select the page with the section you want to update.

4. Click the section so its settings appear in the preview window.

5. Click the eye icon to temporarily hide a section or block.

6. Click Remove to delete a section or block permanently.

7. Click Save so your changes appear in your live store.

🚧 Caution: Always click Save before leaving the theme editor to make sure all your updates are applied to your store.
